The Yankees drub Waco Storm, 18-5

The Yankees pounded Waco Storm on Thursday 18-5 at Lubbock in seven innings.

The Yankees scored nine runs in the seventh on a three-run home run by Giovanni Dingcong, an RBI double by Mark Vargas, a walk by Seth Learned, an RBI single by Jake Nivasch, a walk by Caleb Kerbs, an RBI single by Dingcong, and a hit by pitch.

 

Dingcong racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Yankees.

 

Daniel Hodes got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed four runs over six innings. Hodes struck out one, walked one and gave up nine hits.

The Yankees hammered Waco Storm pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

The game's last lead went to the Yankees thanks to a fifth inning rally that saw five runs cross the plate on a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Griffen Dey, and a three-run triple by Mark Maguire.

One run in the bottom of the sixth helped Waco Storm close its deficit to 9-5. An RBI single by Zapata triggered Waco Storm's comeback. Finally, Hodesinduced an inning-ending fly out from Nerring.
