Santorelli's big day not enough,Yankees blown out 8-2 by Queens Thunder

Nanno Santorelli did his best to will the Yankees to a win with a two-hit game, but the Yankees dropped a 8-2 contest to Queens Thunder on Friday at St joes.

John Baluch had an impressive outing against Queens Thunder's lineup. Queens Thunder managed just three hits off of the the Yankees' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Queens Thunder was sparked by Holmes and Zunita, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.

Queens Thunder stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring four runs on a groundout by Jimenez, two singles, and a walk by Kapera.

Queens Thunder built upon its lead with three runs in the second. A error scored Holmes for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Zunita's single, plating Jimenez and Canela.

The Yankees scored one run in the bottom of the third to cut their deficit to six. A sacrifice fly by Mark Mcquire sparked the Yankees' rally. Queens Thunder stopped the rally after Kapera got Griffen Dey to strike out.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the sixth, the Yankees faced just a 8-2 deficit. An RBI double by Santorelli set off a the Yankees rally.
