NY Greys outdone by Santorelli and the Yankees, 9-4

The Yankees beat NY Greys 9-4 in seven innings on Monday at Fordham behindNanno Santorelli, who went 1-2.

He doubled in the fifth inning.

 

Giovanni Dingcong looked sharp on the mound. NY Greys managed just one hit off of the the Yankees' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his four innings of work.

 

The Yankees went up for good in the first, scoring three runs on a sacrifice fly byDylan Lawrence and two wild pitchs.

The Yankees pushed across three runs in both the second inning and the third. In the second, the Yankees scored on a wild pitch, scoring Jake Nivasch.

The Yankees built upon their lead with three runs in the third. A wild pitch scoredDylan Richards to get the Yankees on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Jonathon Cespedes's single, scoring Karlan and Chris Adames.

Two runs in the top of the fifth helped NY Greys close its deficit to 9-2. A wild pitch and a sacrifice fly by Jorge sparked NY Greys' rally. But, Jeffrey Enriquezgot Andy to ground out to end the inning.

One run in the top of the sixth helped NY Greys close its deficit to 9-3. A groundout by Alex d triggered NY Greys' comeback. Finally, Enriquez got Jake w to ground out to end the threat.

One run in the top of the seventh helped NY Greys close its deficit to 9-4. A sacrifice fly by Jorge gave NY Greys life. But, Daniel Hodes got Andy to fly out to end the game.
