Hot bats not enough, Yankees succumbs to NY Gothams, 12-8

Ten hits weren't enough for the Yankees as it lost a shootout, 12-8 in seven innings, to NY Gothams on Sunday at St Joes.

Mark Maguire was solid at the plate for the Yankees. Maguire went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning.

NY Gothams' Castro, Edwards and Mendez combined for five hits and four RBIs.

In the top of the first, the Yankees grabbed the early lead, 3-0. The Yankees got things going when Caleb Kerbs singled. A single by Nanno Santorelli then moved Kerbs from first to second. Mark Vargas doubled, plating Kerbs. The scoreboard lit up again for the Yankees when Santorelli scored on an RBI single by Maguire and Vargas scored on a groundout by Seth Learned.

NY Gothams quickly matched the Yankees' strong inning with a three-run inning of its own in the first. Ny Gothams scored on an RBI single by Usher, a sacrifice fly by Mendez, and an error.

The Yankees matched their one-run second inning with one more in the seventh. In the second, the Yankees scored on an error, bringing home Jonathon Cardona.
