Yankees outmuscled by NJ Cardinals, 8-0

The Yankees collected five hits, but the Yankees fell 8-0 to the NJ Cardinals at Fairleigh Dickenson on Saturday.

Mark Maguire led the Yankees' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He singled in the sixth inning.

John Michelli was a workhorse on the hill for the Yankees. Michelli pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and five walks while striking out none.

Mcmahon got the win for the NJ Cardinals. He pitched 5 2/3 shutout innings. Mcmahon struck out five, walked three and gave up three hits.

The game was never in doubt after the first, as the NJ Cardinals scored four runs on an RBI double by Catena, an error, an RBI single by Blankmeter, and a wild pitch.
