Dingcong leads the Yankees to 13-2 win over Midville 18u

A great effort by Giovanni Dingcong spurred the Yankees to a 13-2 win in six innings over Midville 18u on Friday at Fairleigh Dickenson.

Dingcong had four extra-base hits for the Yankees. He homered in the first inning and tripled in the fourth and sixth innings.

The offense exploded for the the Yankees in the sixth. Midville 18u had no answer as the Yankees scored nine runs.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the third, with five lead changes.

The Yankees took the lead in the third inning and held on for the victory. TheYankees scored on an RBI single by Mark Maguire off Toscano, scoring Seth Learned.

 

The Yankees easily handled Midville 18u pitching as six hitters combined for 14 hits, 12 RBIs and nine runs scored.

In the top of the first, the Yankees grabbed the early lead, 1-0. A solo blast byDingcong started the inning off.

A key third-inning rally gave the Yankees the lead for good. the Yankees tacked on a total of two runs on An RBI single by Learned.
