Yankees falls behind in sixth inning in 5-4 loss to Columbia As

The Yankees lost a hotly contested 5-4 game in seven innings on Friday at Joplin after surrending the lead in the sixth inning.

Mark Vargas went a perfect 4-4 at the dish for the Yankees. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and sixth innings.

#1 recorded the win for Columbia As. He allowed one run over zero innings. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered no hits.

In the top of the first, the Yankees grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Nanno Santorelli singled to ignite the Yankees' offense. A single by Vargas then moved Santorelli from second to third. John Baluch singled, plating Santorelli.
