The Yankees fend off Bergen Swamp Rat's late push, hold on 7-6

Bergen Swamp Rats wasn't able to overcome the big hole it dug itself into against the Yankees, and Secaucus Swamp Rats lost 7-6 to the Yankees after falling behind by seven runs in the sixth inning.

Bergen Swamp Rats scored on an error, a two-run triple by #35, and an RBI single by #24 in the sixth inning and an RBI triple by Contrini and a groundout byKrgrofsick in the seventh inning. Despite its efforts, Bergen Swamp Rats couldn't get over the hump.

 

Giovanni Dingcong put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Yankees. He tripled in the first, third, and fourth innings.

 

John Michelli got the win for the Yankees despite allowing five runs over six innings. Michelli struck out six, walked one and gave up six hits.

The Yankees were sparked by Dingcong and Nanno Santorelli, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.

The lead stayed with the Yankees after the first, when they scored two runs on an RBI double by Santorelli and a sacrifice fly by Seth Learned.

The Yankees pushed across two runs in both the third inning and the sixth. In the third, the Yankees scored on a two-run single by Mark Maguire, bringing homeDingcong and Santorelli.
