Yankees outmuscled by Bergen Swamp Rats, 10-4

The Yankees collected five hits, but the Yankees fell 10-4 to Bergen Swamp Rats at Secaucus HS on Saturday.

Seth Learned got on base two times in the game for the Yankees. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the sixth inning.

Dylan Lawrence handled Bergen Swamp Rats' lineup with ease, racking up seven strikeouts. Lawrence allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk over four innings.

Vanriper recorded the win for Bergen Swamp Rats. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered three hits.

BergenSwamp Rats was sparked by Vanriper and Muccia, who teamed up for three hits and five RBIs.

BergenSwamp Rats never trailed after scoring two runs in the first on an RBI double by Vanriper and an error.

BergenSwamp Rats got one-run rallies in the fifth inning and the seventh. In the fifth, Secaucus Swamp Rats scored on an RBI single by Sommer, scoringBarbiera.

Bergen Swamp Rats added four more runs in the top of the sixth. Muccia tripled, scoring Dragone, Vanriper and Goldklang to start the inning. That was followed up by Sommer's single, plating Muccia.

After pushing across four runs in the bottom of the sixth, the Yankees faced just a 9-4 deficit. A two-run double by Nanno Santorelli, an RBI triple by Learned, and an RBI single by Griffen Dey triggered the Yankees' comeback. Finally, #8got Jake Nivasch to to end the threat.
